Joro Olumofin: 'Dear Ladies, if you don’t have up to N1m in assets or in your account you shouldn’t be thinking about marriage'

Relationship expert and psychologist, Joro Olumofin has made an appeal to ladies to establish themselves before considering getting married.

According to him, if women don’t have up to N1m in assets or in their accounts, they shouldn’t be thinking about marriage.

Read his full post below.

Dear Ladies, if you don’t have up to N1,000,000 / $2000 in assets or in your account you shouldn’t be thinking about marriage. This is for your own good. A lot of ladies are attenuated focusing on finding a Husband instead of having financial security which leads to atrophy & low self-esteem.
Lugubriously, most Ladies today see having a husband as financial security, this leads to domestic abuse and disrespect when most of the burden is left on the shoulders of a man.
Some wives don’t have vex money or start-up money to start afresh in case of divorce. Having N1,000,000 in assets is having a skill than can bring you 1m in a year. Love is not enough in the millennial generation. Money matters.
Ladies, Having financial independence will bring a certain level of catharsis. Only broke wives accommodate Sidechicks in their marriage.

Just In: Gernot Rohr set to quit as super eagles coach

Gernot Rohr may resign his role as the head coach of the Super Eagles in the next days.

The German man managed Nigeria to a third-place finish in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, after they missed the last two editions.
However, Rohr has come under heavy criticisms from several directions, for what some see as ‘lack of tactical nous’ or, in other words, an ‘inability to read matches’.
It is noted that the 66-year-old has informed close associates, that he is unsure if he wants to carry on.
“A lot of things have been going on but he has taken it all because he does not want to cause any controversy.
“But now, he is not sure if he will continue,” sources have told ESPN.
Rohr is due to face Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick this week as part of that assessment.
And if both parties reach an agreement, he might leave the role sooner as expected.

Protest staged by members of the Shiites movement turned bloddy this afternoon July 22nd after some members of the movement engaged the police in a fierce gun battle at the Central Business District in Abuja, the nation's capital.

However the Shiites who are demanding the release of their leader, Ibrahim ElZakzaky, dared the police and took their protest to the Central Business district.

Efforts by the police to stop them from staging the protest turned bloody within minutes as gun shots were fired by the Shiites and the police.

Breaking News: Four Albanian migrants found taped inside cardboard boxes in a van after paying 700 Euros each to be smuggled into UK

Four Albanian migrants were caught taped inside large cardboard boxes in the back of a van after they paid 700 Euros each to be smuggled into the UK.

The men were traveling from Frankfurt to Derby, in Calais before it crossed the Channel to the UK when Border guards stopped their van.
According to Daily Mail,  the men had paid more than 700 Euros each to a people-smuggling gang, one of whom has now been jailed.
Vladmir Tollumi, 39, was identified as one of four people trafficking illegal immigrants into Britain. The three others have not been traced.

Tollumi who was arrested in May now faces being deported after his release from the 40-month prison sentence he was given last week.
Prosecutor Sarah Slater told Derby Crown Court that the smuggling operation was cracked on May 22, 2017.
She said: 'At around 5am on the French side of the border a van travelling from Frankfurt was stopped by border control officials.
'The driver was asked to open the back of it and inside were six boxes sealed with blue tape.
'They were opened and inside four of them were four Albanians who, it was established, were being smuggled into the UK by illegal means.'

Tollumi pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to assist the unlawful immigration of a non-EU citizen into a member state.
Jane Cochran from East Midlands Criminal and Financial Investigations (CFI) was in court in Derby to see him sentenced.
She said: 'Tollumi may not have been driving the vehicle in which Border Force found the illegal migrants, but he was an integral part of the criminal enterprise.
'CFI's investigations found that prior to the offence, Tollumi had made deliberate attempts to cover his tracks by registering mobile phones and legal paperwork to false addresses.
'However, hundreds of phone calls made by him on and around the offence date, together with other evidence uncovered by CFI, linked him directly to the offence.
'People smuggling is a trade that is motivated by financial gain, preying on those who are most desperate. Our officers specialise in disrupting this type of immigration crime and will not hesitate to bring those responsible before the courts.'

Tollumi's lawyer Edward Henry QC told a judge: 'This operation was a failure. It was aborted and there is no evidence of any subsequent attempt to carry out further offences.
'(The travel writer and critic) AA Gill described Albania as "living in the 17 century". Its economy is dilapidated.
'Mr. Tollumi came to the UK in 2004 and was given the right to remain but he has now lost that due to his serious descent into criminality. It is absolutely right that he goes to prison.'

In his words, he said, “I recall my personal interactions with him (Mandela), especially during our national struggle to force President Olusegun Obasanjo to drop his plan to amend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and secure an extension of his tenure.

Breaking: Davido Dragged To Court Over alleged N4, 000,000 (Four Million Naira) Fraud

Osun State born Nigerian hip pop singer David Adedeji Adeleke aka DAVIDO has been dragged before Igbosere Magistrate Court 2 Lagos State over an alleged fraud of N4, 000,000.00 (Four Million Naira).

The matter which came up for mentioning on the 23rd of May, 2019 as No 16 on the case list at Magistrate Court 2 Igbosere. Listed as Defendants in the suit marked MCL/702/19 are: David Adedeji Adeleke (Davido) – his Personal Assistant: Busari Idris Temitiope (Alias Aloma) and; Davido Music Worldwide Limited music label.

When the matter was called, none of the Defendants, including Davido was in Court, neither were they represented by their lawyers. Counsel to the Claimant Alabh George Turnah, (MON) informed the Court that the Defendants according to the bailiff of the Court, refused to accept service of the originating processes and pleaded the Court for an order for substituted service, which the Court granted.

Investigation revealed that Davido and his Personal Assistant are been sued for fraudulently obtaining the sum of N4, 000,000.00 only from an American based Nigerian born upcoming artist Andre- Tejiri Ochuko Ibhihwiori In the label of Always on Cash Records. Court papers revealed that Davido and his management collected the money as fee to feature in a musical collabo with artist Tjay sometime in January, 2019 but have since then failed to either make himself available for the music collabo or refund the money.

It is not clear how Davido and his handlers will deal with this matter, whether to go into full litigation or seek out of Court settlement with the Claimant who is already asking for 15% interest on the principal sum of N4,000,000.00 from the date of payment to any date that the sum is finally liquidated. This may turn out another Innoson and GTB episode should the talented singer and his team miss-handle the minor.

It is also suggested in certain quarters that this matter of fraud is capable of tainting the image of the singer and affect his credibility in the industry if not properly handled. Feelers from amongst industry players also suggests that Davido may be on his own in this matter as a number of his colleagues and associates who learnt of the Court case today and spoke to our correspondence on condition of anonymity expressed shock and sadness that Davido could engage in such petty fraud against an upcoming artist. Efforts to get to Davido and his management were unsuccessful as calls put through to their mobile phones rang out endlessly without been answered.

The case was however adjourned to the ”23rd of august 2019” for report of service and commencement of trial.

Wole Soyinka: Nigeria is building a generation of illiterates

Prof Wole Soyinka says Nigeria is currenlty raising a generation of illiterates.

Making particular reference to Internet trolls, the Nobel laureate said the nation is raising a generation that is the first to comment on the internet on issues they are deeply ignorant about.

He made this remark when he spoke at the launch of InnoCreativa Youth Hub 2030 and project logo by Creative Youth Community Development Initiative (CYCDI) held at The Civic Centre, Lagos.

“They are waiting for Wole Soyinka to lead a march to Aso Rock. It is about time to get off your feet and stop writing rubbish on the internet about things you do not understand. I do not know how to describe the new generation beyond a generation of internet trolls.
“Nigerian youths are full of spunk outside, but when they are inside Nigeria, they are full of gas. We are building a generation of illiterates. They are the first to comment on the internet on issues they are ignorant about. When you talk about education, I get texts from the new generation and can’t believe these texts are from the youth.
“When I decided to build my house in the forest, I bought a second-hand diesel generator and asked someone to dig a borehole. I wanted to be self-sufficient. What I want to pass on to you is that I thought of the possibility of being self-reliant. This entails that I can come to cooperatives with others and demand things from the government by any means necessary.” Soyinka said
