Philippe Coutinho's second half goal gave Barcelona slim win over Real Sociedad

Philippe Coutinho's second half goal against Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou on Sunday, May 20, ensured Barcelona sent their outgoing captain Andres Iniesta forth on a winning note.

The Brazilian attacker scored the only goal that separated the two sides in the 57th minute after dribbling past the visitors' defenders before beautifully displacing the keeper 12 minutes into the second half.

Both teams played a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes of the last Spanish League game of the season, but all the efforts failed to reach their targets.

This victory means that the Catalans finished the season top of the league table with 93 points from 38 matches - 24 points above second placed Atletico Madrid.

While Champions League finalists, Real Madrid third on the log with 76 points from the same number of games, however, they have the chance to win a trophy this season when they battle Liverpool in the UCL final in Kiev later this month.
